GENERAL CAMP INFORMATION

St. James' is resuming this popular summer activity for children and expanding it to a full-day program. It will combine creative performing activities with a lot of fun and time outdoors. All campers will be involved in various parts of the production, which will take place on Friday, July 6. Camp activities will include the campers learning to perform, but also helping with sets, costumes and props.

The regular camp hours are 9:00 am to 3:30 pm. If there is sufficient demand for before- and after-care to extend those hours we will try to arrange for it. When possible, however, we hope the children can enjoy the chance to go home to spend time with family, or move on to late-day swim team.

Staffing for the camp includes Cheryl Stafford, a talented performer and experienced director of children's music and theater at Montgomery College, in our own church and elsewhere. Other staff members will be drawn from our church members and others, some of whom are teachers and all of whom love children. We welcome your participation, and teenage helpers, too.

Campers will bring their lunch each day except the two Fridays, June 22 and 29, when we will have a cookout. Please indicate food allergies or activity restrictions on the application form to guide our staff.

We will begin our mornings by gathering together, and find times in the day to thank God for our blessings. We shall hope for beautiful summer weather when we can spend much time outdoors, but we will have a good time inside when it rains.

As we prepare for this camp we give thanks to God for the blessings of our children and youth and the opportunity to serve our community in this way.
