"For All the Saints" Parish Art Project
October 21, 2007

Let His Light Shine Through You

On Sunday, October 21st, we had a parish-wide art project in preparation for All Saints Day (which was celebrated two weeks later on Sunday, November 4th). In the project, parishioners were invited after the two Sunday morning services to make "stained glass windows" which represented themselves as saints of God. Each one used standard symbols or images that reflected the unique gifts and talents that the individual brings to the Body of Christ. The panels were made from waxed paper using permanent markers. Resources such as listings of symbols of the Saints were provided to inspire the artists. (Scroll to the bottom of this page to see one.) As a result of the project, when we offered ourselves to the Lord on All Saints Day, we had colorful windows through which His light shone!

To the left you see a window depicting "The Calling of St. James" from the
Cathedral Church of St. James, Diocese of Toronto, Anglican Church of Canada
